Nuss Wins Mens Softball Championship!

On Saturday, August 16th, Nuss Construction defeated Yipes 12-4 to win the 2008 Indian Mills Mens Softball Championship. Nuss finished the playoffs a perfect 4-0. So for the first time in three years a second championship game was not needed. There was no denying Nuss this year. After being swept on championship Saturday last year by Yipes, Nuss was determined this year from start to finish. Their playoff run started with big wins of 15 runs or better in each of the first three teams they would face in the playoffs and continued today with dominating defense and offense in knocking off the number one seeded Yipes. Knocking out Yipes was not an easy task considering the path to the championship game for Yipes. It started Thursday night against the Outlaws. Down 14-11, Yipes scored 4 runs in the bottom of the ninth to win. Friday was no different, but JEM made it difficult. JEM scored 11 runs in the top of the ninth to overcome a seven run deficit. Trailing 22-18, Yipes scored 5 runs to win and secure a chance for a repeat of last year against Nuss in the championship.
